Centre of Expertise HTSM (HighTech Systems and Materials) Community Meeting

Programme

We will give an update on HTSM research projects related to Health during this meeting:

1. Jorge Uquillas Paredes, researcher at Fontys Engineering talks about the Applied Biomedical Sciences & Engineering (ABSE) initiative. In this presentation, the vision, aims, and projects under ABSE will be discussed. Importantly, this presentation will shine light on the need for collaborations with colleagues who would be interested in taking part of ABSE. Additionally, we will highlight ABSE activities since September 2023 until now, the next steps to open the ABSE minor;

2. Geert-Jos van der Maazen is as a researcher part of the profiling team TECH (Technology in Care). He works from the Learning Community LC Prominent where 8 research studies are currently running that have a link to Technology and Care. Three of them Geert-Jos highlights during the HTSM Community Meeting:
* SmartScan: a digital glove, with which we want to introduce a new work process in the Orthopaedic Industry. We also want to make the specific Tacit knowledge of the orthopaedic (shoe) technologist more explicit;
* Within the Handforce project, a hand rehabilitation aid is being developed that can be used by a hand patient to practice at home;
* The RevSim project revolves around a game simulation chair that we intend to use for practice or home practice with a patient with a Non-congenital Brain Injury (NAH).
