Short description

HR&O offers this programme to teaching support staff employed on a contract of more than 0.2 FTE who do not hold a BKO light certificate.

The BKO light comprises the following two teaching roles: the professional and the supervisor and coach of learning processes. These are based on a number of teaching roles from the national profile for the BDB.

Contents

Throughout the programme, you will actively work on developing and gathering evidence for the two teaching roles in relation to your institution’s educational vision and assessment framework, as well as the Fontys frameworks. In addition, you will work in learning teams on the content of the BKO light. In doing so, you will develop and improve your didactic and pedagogical skills and competence, and contribute to raising the quality of education within your institution.

Time investment

The average time commitment for BKO light is 80 hours, during which you will already be working on your portfolio at the sessions. There are seven training days, running from 9 am to 5 pm. In addition, six half-day interim sessions are scheduled, during which you will process the topics covered, give and receive feedback, and work on your portfolio. No trainers is present during these interim sessions; you will work in a learning team.

Result

You will develop an assessment portfolio for each teaching role. On the assessment day, your BKO light will be completed with a pitch and an interview. Your assessment will be marked by two examiners: your trainer and an independent examiner.
A Canvas environment will be set up containing all the information about the BKO light, the learning outcomes with success criteria for each teaching role, reading material and tips.
